In a time of great longing in the world - and in a time of great need in the world - a very, very special child was born.  This very special child arrived at an oh-so-perfect moment with unique and powerful gifts - gifts never before realized and never since repeated; gifts for which the world had prayed, gifts for which the world had waited.

And so the angels sang.  And the angels danced.

Even the animals seemed happier.

The Lord is my Shepherd.  I shall not want.

A limitless universe has laid limitlessness at my feet.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures.  He leads me beside the still waters.  He restores my soul.  He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Every question has already been answered.  Every need has already been met.

I'll save the reader the predictable and trite interpretation of this rich tale in the interest of a more subtle point or two.

By the time he met the giant, David had already battled the lion.  David had called upon his spiritual resources for the battle and in so doing, had gained familiarity with the power which was available to him.

In the beginning, the gardening was easy.  There were no thorns.  There were no weeds.  There were no draughts.  Adam and Eve lived easily.

But then came the snake.  And the woman succumbed to the snake's temptation.  And the man succumbed to the woman's temptation.  And when God appeared, the man blamed the woman, the woman blamed the snake and so it was that irresponsibility was born so long ago in that little garden.

But that's an entirely different essay.

You are immersed in limitlessness.  You are immersed in limitlessness for such is the very nature of the universe in which you live.

You are immersed in limitless possibility for your situation, for your dilemma, for your week, for your year, for your lifetime.

You are immersed in limitless possibility regarding every arena of your life.

And this is what it really means to be loved by God.

The writer could have said that God loves you so much that it has supplied you with all resources necessary for you to create whatever the hell you want.
