The 23rd Psalm Print E-mail

The Lord is my Shepherd.  I shall not want.

A limitless universe has laid limitlessness at my feet.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures.  He leads me beside the still waters.  He restores my soul.  He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Every question has already been answered.  Every need has already been met.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me.  Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

And although I will experience the dark illusions and ghastly apparitions of any earthly exploration, I will not fear.  For even in the face of these illusions and apparitions I will remember that my soul remains perfectly safe and forever intact.

Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.  Thou anoints my head with oil.  My cup runs over.

As I come to understand this truth, even the darkest of the illusions and the ghastliest of the apparitions are reduced into humble servants bearing gifts.  As I come to understand this truth, I understand that I am richly blessed amidst any circumstance.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

As I come to understand this truth, I come to understand that my life – now and forever - is good.
