Thy Word Print E-mail

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

This is a great text from Psalms 119.  In yet another way, it explains effective relationship between us and God; between us and limitless possibility.

You see, the purpose of your best ideas (Thy word) is to lead you forward that you might avail yourself to even greater possibilities which do not exist in your current state.  I could say that the purpose of your best ideas is to grow you in your awareness of what is possible for your life.

You see, your best idea is not necessarily to be realized.  Although you can force this initial idea to manifest (and many do), the spiritually wise understand that this is not the highest path.

Your best idea is supposed to be malleable.

Your best idea is supposed to be flexible.

Your best idea is supposed to evolve.

Your best idea is supposed to be the starting point - the vehicle - for the even greater ideas waiting over the horizon of your current consciousness.

You see, your best idea is like that foot light.  It is designed to provide you the information you need to take your next step or two.  And that's all it's designed to provide.

It doesn't illuminate the end of the path.  It doesn't illuminate the twists, turns and alterations which will ultimately become available to you, based upon the choices you make in this very moment.  It doesn't illuminate the twists, turns and alterations which will be avoided based upon the choices you make in this very moment.

And finally, there is an implied message in this important text which deserves mention.  Since the text places you on a path, the implied message is that you are moving forward on that path.  And it's only as you move forward on that path that next steps can come into your view.  In other words, it is only as you act on your best ideas that the greater possibilities can become available to you.
